From Sept 5th 2017,electrical contractors and installers must use a new type of Insulated Twin & Earth cable,where the earth conductor is the same size as the phase conductor.
It follows an amendment to the National Rules for Electrical Installations (ET101), which was instigated by ETCI Wiring Rules Committee.This committee asked experts to prepare the changes,with a view to improving earthing and removing the need for sleeving.
